Company

Nomi Biotech Corporation is a Polish-Japanese biotechnology company co-financed by the National Centre for Research and Development. Our company specializes in selection, research and manufacturing of proprietary and clinically potent nutraceutical formulations of plant origin.

Our core scientific team is made up of medical doctors, molecular biologists and cytogeneticists with extensive expertise and experience in medical practice and innovative R&D projects.

Our company operates internationally, closely collaborating with top Japanese and Taiwanese suppliers of raw ingredients of plant origin for further in-house processing.

dr Kohei Yagi (PhD)

CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

Kohei is a graduate of the Life Science Department at Kyushu Tokai University in Japan and doctorate studies (PhD) in cytogenetics at Warsaw University of Life Sciences. He specializes in functional biotechnology in the Food & Beverage category. Kohei is a renowned ramen chef in Poland (co-owner and Head Chef of Uki Uki, Uki Green, Uki Uki Kikuya Tokyo). He is an author of more than a 100 proprietary recipes and formulas in the food and beverage industry.

dr Jakub Urbański (PhD)

CHIEF SCIENTIFIC OFFICER

Jakub is a graduate of the Faculty of Biology at the University of Warsaw and doctorate studies (PhD) in molecular biology at Utrecht University. He is the co-founder of HiProMine S.A. – a pioneer Polish company specializing in an industrial scale production of insect proteins. Jakub is a specialist in the field of technology transfer and R&D project management. Jakub is an experienced globetrotter (member of the Explorers Club and a New Guinea expert). He is a co-author of numerous patent applications and holds several granted patents. Jakub was featured on the Business Insider's People Transforming Business in Poland List.

Marcin Jaskuła

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Marcin is a graduate of International Business Management at Manchester Metropolitan University Business School and Chinese Studies at Tsinghua University in Beijing. He began his professional career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland with postings to London, Washington D.C. and Beijing. After having left the government service he founded Sino-Pol Group, a professional consultancy firm offering complex advisory services for Polish enterprises operating in Chinese speaking countries. He had successfully established a presence of numerous listed and private companies on the asian continent. Six years ago Marcin co-founded the first Japanese ramen-bar in Poland and currently expands his restaurant business. Marcin often provides his insights into political and business affairs to Polish and international media outlets focusing on Asian affairs.

Prof. Maciej Banach (MD,PhD)

CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER

Maciej was an Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland (2010-2012). He was the President of Polish Mother's Memorial Hospital - Research Institute from February 2014 to March 2021. He is the current Head of the Cardiovascular Research Centre at the University of Zielona Gora, a full Professor of Cardiology at the Medical University of Lodz and the Polish Mother's Memorial Hospital - Research Institute. He also heads the Department of Hypertension (2008-) at the Medical University of Lodz and holds the Chair in the Department of Nephrology, Hypertension and Family Medicine as well as the Nephrology and Hypertension Department at the University Hospital in Lodz, Poland (2009-). Maciej is the current Secretary of the European Atherosclerosis Society (2021-2024) and a member of the Scientific and Health Policy Advisory Group of the FH Europe. He is the Founder and Head of the Polish Lipid Association.

Michał Żukowski

CHIEF LEGAL OFFICER

Michal is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration and the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism at the University of Warsaw. He is the former Head of the Legal Department of National Centre for Research and Development. Michal is an expert of the World Bank in the field of technology transfer and legal aspects of commercialization of scientific projects. He is the founder and Managing Partner of INNTEO – a boutique legal firm specializing in complex advisory services for R&D projects and Venture Capital funds. Michal often appears in the Polish media providing his insights into the start-up ecosystem.
